Every editing job is different and there is no "one size fits all" approach to editing—that's why I will provide you with a quote that is tailored to your unique requirements.
How it works
After you get in touch with me to enquire about working together I will spend some time asking you about your current project, any deadlines that you are working towards and if you have any particular concerns about your manuscript that you would like me to address. I will then ask you to provide me with a 500-word sample from your manuscript so that I can provide you with a statement of the level of editing required and a quote for my services. The amount quoted will be dependent on the level of editing required.
For guidance, my rates for proofreading and editing are based on the suggested minimum hourly rates set by the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), of which I am currently an entry-level member. These are: £25.40 per hour for proofreading, £29.60 per hour for copyediting and £34.00 for structural editing.
